In the basement of former epic nightclub of the 80s the limelight, re:control presents 18 emerging London-based artists exhibiting both new and recent work. re:control surveys the different photographic strategies that characterised the end of the last decade; documentary forms morph into conceptual gestures, sly technical tricks displace the grave seriousness of photography and its hotline to truth. re:control also presents an immersive narrative installation and process based video work. re:control hopes to inaugurate the new decade with critical and constructive debate that will help foster experimentation and encourage the exploration of new practices.
